quick testI thought this sounded like a useful tool and one that would address a customer need. I downloaded it and started it up and the user interface was intuitive, consistent with what I'd read on the web page and seemed to set things up correctly. So I created a PDF file, put it in the directory I had created, and waited for it to print. Nothing happened. Eventually I got an error that said it had failed to print. I couldn't tell what went wrong but I did notice that Acrobat Reader was started, and didn't get shut down again. I rebooted and had another go and it worked correctly. I think the problem might be that because SilentPrint starts Acrobat Reader, it is susceptible to the user to the user interfering with it via Acrobat reader user interface (maybe that's what I did inadvertently first time). Anyway, although this tool looked promising, I've been put off because it appears unreliable. Hence I've rated it poor and will be looking elsewhere. Social bookmarks: RSS:
